History

One of the Oldest boats in the pacific northwest, "Reliance" was built in 1909 and was initially used as a camp boat to bring supplies to the logging camps in Willapa bay on the coast of Washington. Approximately 1-2 years after it was first launched it was significantly remodeled to be a tug and preformed log patrols on the rives that fed into the bay.

In the late 1970's the boat was nearly entirely restored and rebuilt by local tugboat legend Phil Shively, and thereafter won several tugboat races at the Olympia harbor days.
